Linux Briefing for IT Decision Makers

A briefing for IT directors and managers who are interested in the benefits that the low cost, stable and secure GNU/Linux system can bring to their organisation.

By the end of the briefing you will have the technical and strategic overview necessary to make the decisions on whether to migrate to GNU/Linux.

Briefing Outline
(half day or one day)

The briefing looks at the capabilities of GNU/Linux compared to your current system, and looks at the question of licencing and total cost of migration and upgrade solutions.

A server and desktop machine will be available to show just how easy to use GNU/Linux can be, and our experienced trainers will be on hand to answer any queries

Training for Users

We provide both introductory and comprehensive training for users. Training can be tailor made and carried out on site, or delegates can come to one of our regular courses at central locations.

Course Outline
(half day, one day or three day courses)

The training course for users is designed for those new to Linux or Unix, but who have experience using personal computers and wish to learn about Linux basics.

Prerequisites for this course include knowledge and some experience of personal computers.

Tailor made training is available for those who do not fulfil these prerequisites, or wish to have a more in depth training.

Linux Administration Training

Training for Systems Administrators can be tailor made to take account of the specific needs of your network, or delegates can come to one of our regular courses at central locations.



Course Outline
(two, three and four day courses)

The training course for administrators is designed for advanced users of MS-Windows or MacOS, or current users of Linux who need to be able to quickly and efficiently understand and administer a GNU/Linux system.

Prerequisites for this course include advanced user experience of other Operating Systems, or user level knowledge of Unix or GNU/Linux.

The course is also suitable for those who need to consolidate and build on experience already gained from using or administering Unix or GNU/Linux

Tailor made training is available for those who do not fulfil these prerequisites, or wish to have training relevant to a specific network.

Training for IT Support and Helpdesk Staff

Training for IT Support and Helpdesk Staff can be tailor made to take account of the specific needs of your network, or delegates can come to one of our regular courses at central locations.

Course Outline
(two, three and four day courses)

This training course is designed for the level of understanding and experience required by IT Support and Helpdesk staff. An understanding of both front end and back end applications, as well as remote administration of desktops is taught. advanced users of MS-Windows or MacOS, or current users of Linux who need to be able to quickly and efficiently understand a GNU/Linux system in order to provide support to users.

Prerequisites for this course include advanced user experience of other Operating Systems, or user level knowledge of Unix or GNU/Linux.
